Saxmundham Music & Arts Community Interest Company

Saxmundham Music & Arts CIC became incorporated on November 24^th 2017 as a not-for-profit organisation. The aim is to develop an annual programme of various music and arts events in and around Saxmundham.

The Objects of the Company are to carry on activities which benefit the community and in particular (without limitation) to the residents of Saxmundham and the nearby towns and villages in Suffolk. Specifically, to provide greater access to music and the creative arts. The Company is not established or conducted for private gain: any profits or assets are used principally for the benefit of the community.

Objectives

To organise and promote activities which benefit the community, in particular (without limitation) to the residents of Saxmundham and the nearby towns and villages. Specifically, to provide greater access to music, the arts including creative arts. Also, to engage with other Saxmundham organisations, and work to reduce social isolation, bring people together to enjoy a collective experience, provide a musical outlet for local talent, and help to support a more cohesive community. Provide specific public information areas, where useful information is gained to improve lives, whether it was for debt relief, housing issues, seeking employment/apprentice information, mental health advisory services and or local community, sports and social clubs.

 Mission

To enrich the lives of all residents, and visitors to Saxmundham and district by encouraging, supporting and providing local access to music, the arts and entertainment with the aim of creating stronger local cohesion and wellbeing.

This will include an annual programme of events and music for all ages and backgrounds in and around Saxmundham, leading up to (and providing some fundraising for) the annual ’Sax Fest’.
